What is a CVV?

CVV stands for Card Verification Value, and it's a new security feature for non face-to-face transactions. It is a three or four digit value that provides a cryptographic check of the information embossed on your credit card. The CVV helps verify that the customer has the credit card in his or her possession and that the card account is legitimate.

You will need to enter a CVV as well as your card number. For Visa and Mastercard users, this number is the last 3 digits of the number in the signature field on the back of your card. For American Express users, this is the 4 digit number on the front of your card.
